NUTRITION

Alpacas are extremely efficient at taking nutrients from their diet. Below outlines everything that an alpaca needs throughout the year:

• Hay/haylage must be provided all year round, particularly in winter.

​

• A supplementary feed should also be provided which gives the alpacas additional minerals and nutrients.

​

• Alpacas need access to grass at all times of the year, and regular rotation of paddocks is advised to keep the grass in the best condition.
